Thank you so much for sweeping the shoulders on new Brooklyn! However I was surprised to see a large brush was being used that was just throwing dust up in the air and spreading it all over the adjacent forest and wetland? Doesn’t the city typically use a street sweeper?

I picked up trash this morning on my walk and the vast majority of it was the yellow road reflectors that were scraped up by the snow plow and were all over the side of the road in fragments. This is not the first time I’ve seen this. There needs to be some other solution to road reflectors if this kind of pollution is the result every time the roads have to be cleared. I can only imagine how many of these are now all over the sides of roads across the island.

Tree down on new Brooklyn, blocking half the road

There are cars going way faster than 30mph coming down and up the hill on new Brooklyn towards sportsman’s club rd. It’d be great to get some enforcement/reminder about the speed limit there.

Are these signs posted by a valid organization? Are they consistent with our regukations regarding posted signs?

Hi- I noticed while driving along miller that due to the shoulder activities, there are several trees on the east side of the road, particularly north of Koura, that have had their roots exposed, cut or damaged to a pretty alarming degree. Im very concerned that the long-term prognosis of trees whose root systems have been damaged like that will not be good, and that they may sicken and die, creating both canopy loss and a public hazard. If you have not had an arborist out to look at the work being done along this section, and determine whether what is being done is causing risk of harm to these trees, I think you should.

This car was parked illegally in trailer parking. Our trailer was proximate to it and it made it difficult to get out as I could not easily back up.

This is both a police and public works issue. Parents are ignoring the no parking sign on the north side of new brooklyn west of the sportsman club intersection. In part this may be b cause the sign is not facing them and is not visible- the post needsa sign that faces east. The post is also way too close to the intersection and so cars still park west of it, impeding bike and foot traffic and making this area dangerous for students and drivers alike.

The shoulders desperately need sweeping. This is new brooklyn but I biked most of central and South Island this weekend and there was substantial debris in most of the shoulders. Dangerous for biking.

Reflectors peeled off and crushed. I saw at least three more like this in the vicinity that I haven't had a chance to get. This is something like the third year in a row I have seen this happen after a cold winter storm. I am assuming a plow has come through and scraped them off. You've lost the reflectors and now there are plastic fragments ending up all over the roadside and into the environment. Are there any alternative technologies in reflector type the city could explore that wouldnt lead to this happening at regular intervals?

Someone has dumped several piles of wood chips into a stream and wetland at the corner of sands and Paul Anna. There is also some limbo g of trees adjacent to the stream.

It is such a disappointment to see that the parking on bjune has been reduced to 2 hours. This makes it impossible to park downtown and go out on the water on a boat or kayak. Really limiting and frustrating for those of us who are trying to access water recreation opportunities.

Cars are repeatedly parking on a very narrow shoulder on the northwest corner of new Brooklyn and sportsman club to pick up kids after school. This makes it dangerous for any of us, including myself and my daughter who bike and walk this route, to use the side of the road safely when we are coming home from school. You already have no standing signs around the corner on sportsman- can I suggest that you put the same signs here?

It looks like the city has decided to control roadside veg by scraping it all away. This has left a dusty mess on several of the roads. More importantly last week during the rain, meigs creek was a complete silty mess from all the dirt exposed on the road adjacent to the stream that ran off. I'd encourage the city to consider not using this method adjacent to stream crossings, it can lead to damaging runoff.
