Normally COBI hires a small army of eco-conscious, nosy boomer ladies to hand-pick each piece of gravel and carefully place it beyond the shoulder, such that it may return to the loving mother Gaia. This was a clear violation of policy and should be investigated IMMEDIATELY.

That’s pretty sad to jeer at an honest inquiry into whether the city is using best practices to manage the material on the shoulders of our roads that includes accumulated brake dust and oil that comes off our cars and send it onto our forests and into the faces of our kids that are walking to school right at that time.

Thank you for your concern. From the Admin desk: Operations and Maintenance has one sweeper and one power broom and they are both used to clean the streets. To find out when and where they are applied, please email the roads supervisor, Dave Marquis, at dmarquis@bainbridgewa.gov. He will return to the office on April 1st and can respond at that time.
