Description
Yet another round of road reflectors pulled off, assuming by the snow plow, now in fragments all along the roadside. This is from a few hundred feet of new Brooklyn road. Amplify this across the island and we have a ton of fragmented plastic now heading for our stormwater systems. Not good.

Thank you for your report. Operations and Maintenance has picked up all of the raised pavement markers that were in the shoulder/ditch.
According to the crew member the pavement markers are the approximate weight of a small rock and in nearly every situation would stay on the shoulder and not be washed into the storm system or Puget Sound.
Regarding paint, the paint we use to stripe the roads is a low VOC water based paint. Several years ago the transition was made to go this direction because it is more environmentally friendly.
Thank you again.
